How can I choose a repository that NIH will find acceptable?

NIH encourages the use of domain-specific repositories where appropriate, but also suggests other potentially suitable options:​

• Institutional repositories (such as Northeastern's Digital Repository Service)​

• PubMed Central for small datasets​

• Generalist repositories such as Dataverse, Dryad, Figshare, Mendeley Data, Open Science Framework, and Zenodo.
