Who should I list in element 6 of my DMSP as being responsible for oversight?
The day-to-day management and monitoring of the plan rests with the Principal Investigator with the Research Enterprise Services office (NU-RES) confirming compliance on an annual basis during RPPR review. As such, when preparing the plan, we ask the NU community to answer Element 6 as follows:
The Principal Investigator will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of lab/team data management activities and data sharing. In addition, the Research Enterprise Services office at Northeastern University (NU-RES) will be administering this award and will be confirming compliance of the Plan with the PI as part of the annual NIH progress report review.
Please note that while NIH has posted sample plans that address all elements of the DMSP (element 6 included), these plans should be considered examples only rather than used as templates. They were written for specific projects and specific ICs that may have additional requirements.
