Question: How do I put a personal copy on reserve for my course?
Last Updated: Feb 22, 2024     Views: 84

We are happy to place your personal copies of books and multimedia materials on course reserve!

You can drop off your personal copies at Snell Library's first floor Help & Information desk during regular business hours; let our staff know that you are providing materials for course reserve, and we will ask you to fill out a short paper form with course & contact information. Please allow a turn-around time of 2-3 business days for your items to be fully processed and ready for students on reserve.

Return of Personal Copies

If you would like your personal copy to remain on reserve at Snell Library after the end of the active semester, please contact us prior to intersession week to request an extension.

Between semesters, all personal copies left on shelf from the previous semester and not requested for the next semester will be removed and returned to the owner’s department via campus mail. The library is not responsible for items lost in campus mail.

While we attempt to assure the security of any personal copies of material that you lend us, we cannot guarantee against or assume responsibility for the loss, theft, or mutilation of such copies.

Note on Acceptable Materials

The following will not be accepted as personal copies:

  • Multimedia material that constitutes an illegal recording (made without permission)
  • Rented videos/DVDs
  • Items borrowed from other institutions via Interlibrary Loan or in person
