Roux Shipping Pilot

Answer

The Roux Shipping Pilot provides Roux Institute patrons access to Snell Library's physical collections at Northeastern's Boston campus. Steps to request items listed below:

 

1.  Search the library's catalog in Scholar OneSearch.  We have an extensive collection of ebooks and ejournals in addition to our physical collection. If the title you are searching for is available as an ebook, then you could access it today!

 

2.  Collections that can be requested from include Stacks, Oversize, Folio, and the Favat Children's & Young Adult CollectionAdditionally, items stored in the Remote Annex can be requested, but may take additional time to process. 

  • At this time, items from Reserves, Reference, PeriodicalsLaw Stacks, Faculty Publications, Archives and Special Collections, and Interlibrary Loan cannot be requested. 

 

3  If an item from the available collections above is identified, please submit your request through the Roux Shipping Pilot online request form.

  • You will receive an email confirming whether or not the item is available for shipping. 
  • Shipments from Boston to Portland will go out every Monday or Tuesday.
  • Depending on when your request is submitted, please allow 4-10 business days for your loan to arrive at Roux.  

 

4.  Once your loan is available for pick up, you will receive a notification email.  Please pick up your loan as soon as possible from the "HOLD Shelf for Roux Shipping Pilot" located:

          Roux Library - bookshelf located across from room 132

          100 Fore Street

          Portland, ME, 04101

          Building hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 10 PM

Requests are shelved alphabetically by patron's last name and have already been checked out to your library account.

 

5.  Loans will need to be returned to the same location within a week of their due dates.  Please return to the "RETURN Shelf for Roux Shipping Pilot" located at the same location of the pickup shelf. 

  • Due to shipping time, items may be delayed in being removed from your account, so please disregard any overdue notices if you have already returned the loan.
  • If you would like to renew your loan, then please log into your library account here
